I recently spent a week on the Carnival "Freedom" out of Galveston, with ports of call at Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. I had a nice balcony cabin right beneath the Spa where I was able to take full advantage of the gym, steam room, massages and facials. Admittedly it was a bit decadent but I deserve it.

The weather was perfect once we left the cold and rain of the Gulf, and the seas were smooth. The food and booze were superb, and I met some interesting folks among my fellow passengers. The nightly entertainment was excellent with a comedy club and musical floor shows.

Ashore at Ocho Rios I visited Dunns River Falls and a beautiful beach (Ya Mon, No Problem). At Grand Cayman I took a 100 foot dive in a submarine to view the "Wall," and at Cozumel I got to swim with the dolphins.

Altogether it was a nice getaway. Here are some photo highlights. (Yes, I did leave the wife at home, but she wouldn't have enjoyed the trip, believe me).
